About Us
Why We Are Here
Tactical Athletic Performance is dedicated to the development of the full spectrum tactical athlete. Often the term has been used by personal trainers and fitness gurus in an attempt to lure in service members and professional shooters to make a grab at the market. Being a tactical athlete is about development of a wide range of skills; you must build tactical skill as well as strength training and endurance building. Here we are working toward building the resources that you can use to increase your survivability and dominance on the battle field. The focus is shooting, moving and closing with the enemy. Tactical Athletic Performance is more than the latest from some internet guy named “iTrain,” it is something you should use if you are more of the “iKill” type (Mac user reference).
What is a Tactical Athlete
To develop full spectrum warrior skills you must train daily to peak physical fitness; what that means is building a mastery over your body through strength training, agility skills and mental techniques to enhance performance. Without the tactical skills of weapons handling marksmanship and tactics you may become nothing more than a triathlete who carries a carbine. Currently on the web this is what the mainstream thinks a “tactical athlete” is, fortunately if you found your way here most likely you know there is much more to conflict resolution than flipping tires and lifting kettle bells. If you spend 12 hours a week in the gym how much time should you spend at the range? Obviously training is important to you so let’s work together to make you the best.
Who We Are:
My name is A.J. though I generally go by (Abel) online. I built this site originally as a project to help the guys in my Special Forces unit to stay on the same sheet of music with respect to where our training priorities were and how we spend our precious training time. I enjoy every aspect of being a professional soldier (except the paperwork and inventories) on my ODA I act as an assaulter, sniper, medic, primary pistol instructor and primary combatives instructor. Though the site is fairly new the response has been tremendous. Much of the content is from other guys in the field who I know personally or professionally but nothing is posted unless it comes from someone with real world experience. From the beginnings it has evolved a great deal and now acts more as a conduit to get ideas and techniques out to the force. I often make the joke that this site is dedicated to the pursuit of awesomeness because, for us there is nothing better than traveling the world running and gunning, so if the you aren’t into the 9-5 thing and you love developing your craft and you don’t take crap from anyone (except of course the President, the officers appointed over you and the Constitution of the United States) then Tactical Athletic Performance is for you.

your pursuit is paying off TACTICAL ATHLETIC PERFORMANCE .COM is awesome
Thanks, hopefully we can continue to provide awesome stuff. We are headed out to the range this weekend with 2,000 rounds of ammo so hopefully we can get some good stuff.
Great stuff, you hepled me out so much!
Love the site keep it up
Thank you hope to see you again soon
A.J.,
Nice site man. I’ll write a blog post about you guys. I’m also developing a couple other “Tactical” sites that I’ll be sure to promote you guys on. I couldn’t agree more, when I looked up “Tactical Athlete” because I thought it might be a good niche to develop I was disappointed on what “Tactical Athlete” is being defined as.
I’m a prior-service Batt. Boy and I’ll do what I can to help you guys out. Keep it up.
Adam.
Thanks Adam.
I really appreciate the comment. I totally agree with you that we need to take the term “Tactical Athlete” back because it is more than just selling fitness it is also about being tactically proficient. I am a huge fan of tactical hats (I spend my Rogain money on ammo and TRX products). RLTW
LMAO! That’s too funny!
Like I said, I’ll do what I can to help you. Send me an email when you get the chance, I’ve been at this Internet game for a little while and I’d like to hook you up as much as I can.
If you know any guys from the Regiment, I had some American flag hats made with scrolls on the back for the Batt Boys sometime ago and just never promoted them. They are really cool hats and I just want to get them in the hands of Rangers!
Awesome site, Jeff!!
Thanks Jeff,
Hopefully we can continue to provide value. Thanks for taking the time to leave a comment.
AJ!!! I love the new website layout!!! It really pops!!!
Thank you Joe I really appreciate your support.
Good Stuff AJ. Great, meaningful points. Dig the site.
Thank you EW for taking the time to comment. I have a few ideas for future post that can really help guys out.
Is there a workout/training program that you have on this site that helps one to become a “Tactical Athelete”?
Sorry I was deployed so it took me a while to get to this comment. I am working on a free e-book for just that I hope to have it out before the end of the year so stay tuned.
